About Me:

I am currently a fourth year PhD student at the University of California Merced where I am performing research in Optimization and Deep Learning with Dr. Roummel F. Marcia. I completed my undergraduate work at California State University, Long Beach where I received a B.Sc. in Business Administration with an option in finance. After some time in the private sector I decided to return to academics and obtained an Msc in Mathematics with an emphasis in applied mathematics from Cal Poly Pomona.

During my time Cal Poly Pomona I was invited to participate as a teaching assistant in the Pacific Math Alliance PUMP program. The program is designed to prepare undergraduate math majors for their transition to a PhD program. My responsibilities included leading problem solving sessions pertaining to advanced topics of real analysis and linear algebra and providing feedback to students on the clarity and thoroughness of their work. Currently, I am a graduate student researcher at the University of California, Merced.

Research Interests:

Deep learning, large scale optimization, photon-limited imaging
